It’s an undereye/dry skin lifesaver and perfect alternative for those of us still weird about putting straight-up oil on our face after years of being told by various teen celebrities its basically satanic.

Am I There Yet?: The Loop-de-loop, Zigzagging Journey to Adulthood

Fun fact: Mari Andrew once wrote me the sweetest note in the response to an email I sent her outlining my mid-twenties crisis in very specific detail a few questions I had. Personally,  I think the cover alone is enough to afford a pre-order, and make sure to give her Instagram a follow, @bymariandrew, too.

Literally Me

Perfect Twenty-Something Gift, Literally Me

I’ve been keeping up with J.Crew-creative-turned-satirical-sketch-artist, Julie Houts, for a while now, and let me tell you, she’s good. So good, in fact, there’s now a real-life book to commemorate her illustrated thoughts on things like control-top tights and three-day hangovers! If you’re interested, you can find her on the ‘gram, @jooleeloren.

Pot Lid Organizer
Can you imagine what we, as a human collective, could have accomplished with all the time spent searching dark cabinets for pot lids? Of course my favorite Instagram chef is an ice cream chef, and I can’t recommend Jeni Britton Bauer‘s inspiring Instagram stories, awesome hair, or new spot in DC enough.

Cerulean Agate Coaster Pack

Perfect for:
anyone with delicate surfaces, open containers, and dignity. Inspired by the beautiful Austrialian interiors found on Fiona Michelon’s Instagram, @fiona_michelon_stylist.

20 Winter-Friendly Wrap Dresses

My Picks

This winter, I’m asking you to back away, slowly, from your corduroys. I know what you’re thinking: “IT’S TOO HARD.” “THEY’RE SO WARM.” “CORDS ARE THE ONLY THING THAT FIT ME RIGHT NOW.” *lunch tray slam*

Fine! But at least hear me out: there is color, fit, and coverage waiting just on the other side of your winter wardrobe’s comfort zone. It’s name? The wrap dress.

You may recognize TWD from spring, summer, and fall, where it serves as a saving grace during everything from outdoor weddings to happy hours to work the next day, where it then acts as an impeccable concealer of hangover bloat.

However, too many of us are quick to pack up ole wrappy when the leaves make their final descent, perhaps unaware that a simple turtleneck, tights, and booties can help extend its ROI throughout Q1, too.

Below, I’ve compiled the best patterned wrap dresses the internet has to offer you right now. So many are on sale, and so many are amazing.

The dress I’m pictured wearing outside of Frederick’s premier motel/restaurant, Masser’s, was a Zara find and I can confirm I have not removed it from my body since purchasing on December 2nd. It’s fitting for so many different occasions, and can be found in nestled right in the center of that ‘CARE / DON’T CARE’ Venn diagram I’m confident that you, like me, picture every morning while choosing the day’s sartorial direction.

FullSizeR (12).jpg

Unfortunately, the dress I’m in has sold out, but I’ve included three below that are pretty similar — and on sale! — from Zara. The earrings are Lisi Lerch, the jacket is Topshop (similar here), purchase my turtleneck here, and the cuff is from Nordstrom Rack (similar here) and the broach is a vintage find from the Gail Colby Collection™. Enjoy!

Prime Find: This Shirt Is Probably, Definitely from Amazon

Chic on the Cheap

The motive was an off-white top I could pair with jeans, cords, and skirts this fall for work or play. The challenge was the $23.75 in my checking account. Per usual, I headed to Amazon, hoping for a miracle in the shape of a strange Korean-made garment somehow produced to fit me and my vision in perfect, flawless form.

Suffice to say, my hopes and dreams were realized in the form of this off-white eyelet pattern top I did not remove from my body for a full 72 hours during the carb-ridden blur that is Thanksgiving weekend. It’s a soft, silky material, doesn’t wrinkle easily, and looks great tucked in or out.

Magical. Less than $20. And it’s still in stock HERE.

I’m wearing the ‘L – US 4’ size but probably could have sized down to a Medium for a more fitted look. Actually, I’m going to buy the smaller size now, because life is short and this wearable doily is worth it. It includes a back zipper, so the risk of strangulation is low (unless you’re into that sort of thing!)

My earrings and cords are also on sale! Click the graphic to shop and complete the look!
